Who Would They Invite to Their Dinner Party?

Podcast | Preview

We have just finished recording our most recent podcast. Part 1 will be up this evening with any luck.

And I will admit, it was a lot of fun.

We had Joe step in for Oggy this afternoon, who was infected with the dreaded Flu, which added another dimension. Who did we ultimately decide on? Listen to the podcast and find out for yourself.

On a separate note, I have found it very interesting asking people the question of who they would invite. If they had one invite, and could include anyone in history.

There was a real variety of answers, ranging from:

David Attenborough
Henry VIII
Winston Churchill
Joanna Lumley
Steven Spielberg
Tom Hardy
Kim Khardashian
One person's Grandparent

And I quickly realised that there is literally so much that you can learn about a person just by asking this question. By analysing their answer, you get an idea of what they want to be, who they want to emulate, and to some degree, the way that they would like to be seen when all is said and done.

Someone that picks Kim Khardashian is clearly immersed in the celebrity culture.
Someone that picks Henry VIII is going to want a fun, dinner with lots of food and that royal feel.
Spielberg is arguably the greatest film maker of our generation, and inviting him you clearly have an interest in film, and maybe want to emulate.
You may be inspired by Lumley's charity work, and want to ask her more.

But it is obviously important to ask them more questions about it so that you are not generalising about that person.

It's always good to ask questions.

I urge you to try it. Ask someone, who would they want to invite to a dinner party. From history. Anyone.
