The Milo and Moose Show Episode 18: Artifical Intelligence

In this episode of The Milo and Moose Show, Milo and Moose are joined by their good friend Dan to discuss artificial intelligence and related technology.

They begin by discussing "the singularity", or the point at which artificial intelligence exponentially surpasses human intelligence, before Dan shares an impromptu review of Independence Day. After this they discuss how we might hope to both identify and define AI, before looking at how AI might be both understood and misunderstood through the lens of evolution.

They finish with an obligatory discussion about the ultimate tech dream of being able to download knowledge, as well as musing on the impact technology could have on capitalism.

It's a big episode, one of the biggest they have done to date, which is fitting as this will be the last episode for a while. Keep tabs on their Soundcloud, Twitter and blog for future updates on their eventual return.

In this episode of the Milo and Moose Show, Milo and Moose are discussing space; not space as in "the absence of something filled by furniture" but "the black thing above us with the stars and maybe aliens".

They begin by discussing the sheer size of space, by throwing around numbers they can't say and incomplete statistics. Following this they share their thoughts on whether they would like to be astronauts, and whether they think human's will eventually try to colonise the galaxy, They continue by applying these same questions to alien species specifically and whether we would colonise them, or whether they would colonise us.

They finish by revealing that earth, and life on earth, as we know is actually a reality show, and it's about to be cancelled! Can they come up with a pitch to save earth? It's not likely, let's be honest.

The Milo and Moose Show Episode 12: What are You Afraid of?

In this episode of The Milo and Moose Show, Milo and Moose are discussing fears and phobias. They begin by discussing which of the UK's most popular fears, and which one's they also have, before Moose shares the story behind his fear of mannequins.

After the break they discuss their responses to fear by using butchering the phrase "fight or flight" and using it in cruel and unusual ways, as Milo shares a bizarre Yoda impression to see out the segment.

They finish with a speculative chat about "genetic memory", which is the hypothesis that certain fears are genetically passed. It would explain why Milo is afraid of snakes as well as why snakes and spiders are such common fears across the world, especially in countries like Britain where their threat is minimal.

The Milo and Moose Show Episode 11: If You Could Go Back in Time, Should You?

In this episode of The Milo and Moose Show, Milo and Moose are discussing time travel. They begin by discussing the time travel theories of Ronald Mallett, before then going on to dicuss which events in history they would like to go back in time to witness.

After this they share their own time travel story which, in Milo's words, starts of strong before rapidly going downhill in a big way. 

They finish with a speculative chat about whether time travel is possible and if it is possible whether it is a good idea. Do the negatives, such as becoming your own grandfather, outweigh the positives, like winning the lottery. In all honesty we don't really answer the questions so if you have an answer share it!

The Milo and Moose Show Episode 10: Get Your Oranges and Authenticity

In this episode of The Milo and Moose Show, Moose is finally back to health after a nasty hangover and an even nastier illness (Mad Moose Disease).

Moose introduces the product life cycle as a way of identifying this boundary, and it'd be interesting to know if people think that this is as useful a measure as we do! The Milo and Moose Show Episode 8: Is Cheating Inhumane or Simply Beating the Game?

Milo and Moose begin by discussing times in their past when they have themselves cheated, before moving on to discuss their favourite stories of people trying to get ahead by less than honourable means. They’ll finish with a debate (of sorts) about whether cheating is simply a case of getting ahead, or is always going to be an example of the inhumane or unacceptable.
